Real/Simple Vegetables and Sides
The Heat Beads® Real/Simple BBQ Series celebrates simple recipes, cooked the real way – over Heat Beads® BBQ Briquettes. No BBQ is complete with out some chargrilled veg and sides.
Your favourite vegetables, we suggest:
- Red capsicum, sliced into quarters
- Zucchini, sliced into quarters
- Sweet corn, in the husk
- Asparagus, threaded onto skewers to form rafts
- & a fresh-sliced loaf of sourdough
- Rosemary sprigs
- Garlic cloves, chopped
- Olive oil
- Solid fuel BBQ, such as a Weber kettle BBQ
- 2.5kg Heat Beads® BBQ Briquettes
Light approx. 2.5kg of Heat Beads® BBQ Briquettes, and set up your BBQ for the ‘direct’ method with coals spread over the fire grill. Alternatively, while your meat is cooking on the centre of the BBQ, use the direct heat at the sides of the BBQ to cook your vegetables.
Make up a marinade of rosemary, garlic and olive oil and brush it onto your vegetables.
Place your vegetables and bread on the BBQ to chargrill. Corn takes the longest at approx. 20 minutes so be sure to start with this.
They will be full of flavour and be ready to serve once they have softened and have the tell-tale grill marks.
