Ingredients

  • 500g sausage mince
  • 200g mozzarella cheese sticks
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Olive oil (for brushing)
  • Skewers (wooden or metal)

Method

  1. Prepare the Meat Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the sausage mince, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are well combined.

  2. Wrap the Cheese Sticks: Take a mozzarella cheese stick and wrap it with the sausage mixture, ensuring it is completely covered. Repeat this process for all the cheese sticks, forming even "meat sticks."

  3. Preheat the BBQ: Fire up your BBQ using Heat Beads Briquettes (Blue Bag) and set it up for indirect heat. Aim for a temperature of 175°C-200°C (350°F-392°F).

  4. Cook the Meat & Cheese Sticks: Place the meat-covered cheese sticks on a grill-safe tray. Cook them indirectly for 15-20 minutes, ensuring they cook through evenly.

  5. Add a Sear: Move the meat sticks to the hotter side of the grill for a quick sear, turning them to achieve a crispy, golden-brown exterior.

  6. Assemble the Hot Dogs: Remove the cooked cheese-stuffed meat sticks from the grill and let them cool slightly. Place each "Juicy Lucy" into a hot dog roll, then top with your favorite condiments and garnishes.

  7. Serve: Serve these smoky, cheesy hot dogs immediately. They're guaranteed to be the star of your next BBQ party!
