Grilled Halloumi
Grilled halloumi cheese is a gourmet trend that is quick and easy to make on your home barbecue grill. You can enjoy grilled halloumi slices or you can make it part of cheese and vegetable skewers.
Ingredients
Halloumi cheese (or halloumi-style cheese)
2 tablespoons olive oil
Garnish: Lemon wedges, fresh herbs
Method
Preheat your grill to a medium heat
Slice your halloumi into slices that are about half an inch thick. Brush each side with olive oil.
Grill the cheese for a few minutes each side (2-3 mins), until lightly-browned and gently-crisped. Be careful not to over-grill.
You’re done! Garnish with wedges of lemon, or fresh herbs such as basil, mint or oregano. Best eaten quickly while it’s gooey on the inside and crispy on the outside!
