Hello Spring!
Warmer weather, longer days and hay fever – who can deny the joys of spring? If your BBQ has been sitting in the shed all winter, it’s time to take her out, give her a good shine, and treat her to some great seasonal produce.
In our end of town, here’s what we’re grilling…
Cantonese Style Spicy Marinade BBQ Recipe
Currently our favourite pork marinade as we love the spice. This recipe uses Hoisin sauce which is a thick, sweet and salty Asian sauce made from fermented soy, garlic and vinegar among other things. It’s readily available in most supermarkets.
Crayfish BBQ Recipe
If you can get your hands on fresh crayfish, this is how you should do it. Make a simple baste of butter, garlic and chilli, grill quickly using the Direct method, and serve immediately with lemon and salad of your choice.
Lamb Kebabs in Pomegranate Marinade BBQ Recipe
What can we say, but this marinade just works! Pomegranate molasses, mint, garlic, lemon and cardamom. Cardamom is from the ginger family and is easily available at the spice section of the supermarket.
