BBQ School 101: The MOINK Ball
The MOINK ball (moo + oink) was created in August 2008 by BBQ writer, blogger and Outdoor Cooking Guild member, Larry Gaian of The BBQ Grail. He wanted to create something simple, yet tasty, for a wedding he was catering for. The result? A delectable, bite sized, BBQ meatball wrapped in bacon.
This simple creation has since become a staple among BBQ enthusiasts with many trying their hands at different delicious combinations. However, according to Gaian, the original MOINK ball was made with store-bought beef meatballs, wrapped in pork bacon, smoked slowly over low heat, and served with a raspberry balsamic glaze.
