Christmas Roast Tips

We are obsessed with roasts during Christmas. There’s nothing more beautiful than the sound of laughter and the clinking of glasses around the table, as your closest friends and family wait patiently for their portion of this magnificent meal to be carved.

Here are a few key reminders for any festive roast…

– If you’re using stuffing, remember to allow for extra cooking time.
– Use the Indirect method – this will ensure whole, even cooking.
– Use a meat thermometer – one of the most reliable ways to ensure your meat is cooked to your liking.
– Let it rest – never skip this part as it allows the meat to relax after the long cooking process and will help ensure it is tender and juicy.
– Serve with a selection of root vegetables that’s been slow cooked in the delicious roast juices.

And here’s a festive decorative tip from Lisa Annis of Marulan, NSW: Use apples as vases and name holders. Make holes in the apples and stick in flowers, names or Christmas baubles. Cute and cost-effective. Thanks, Lisa!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
